The Mobius Café - Brenham

Little known to most students at the Blinn College Brenham campus, there is a small coffee shop only a few blocks away waiting to be enjoyed. The Mobius café is family owned and operated, easily identified by the large red coffee cup on it’s roof with an infinity symbol on it’s side. The Mobius boasts a wide variety of coffees and flavored drinks. From the more than two dozen available flavorings for coffees and Italian Soda’s to their more unique drinks like jalapeno lemonade.  The Mobius café might be the one place in town that can legitimately satisfy the complex flavored drink needs of a college student.

The Mobius also has a small menu of sandwiches, salads and desserts so they can satisfy your hunger as well as your thirst, and if they don‘t have what you want they are connected to a pizza shop next door that sells a pretty good pizza for only a few bucks. To be perfectly honest, it wasn’t the food and drinks that first caught my attention, it was a sign in the window proudly reading “free wireless internet!” I can’t speak for my fellow students, but personally I’d rather not check my Facebook and watch hilarious Youtube videos in the library, and sitting in a dorm room gets old, FAST. The Mobius is a perfect place for a college student to sit back and relax. It’s front room has a number of tables, along with a few arm chairs, but the best lounge space is their back room where I currently sit while writing this review.

Between the stylish décor and the comfortable seating, including a few large comfortable couches and leather arm chairs, the Mobius is a wonderful place to sit and type away or sip a delicious cup of coffee. I often come and sit in their lounge while I do my homework or surf the web waiting for my next class.  But their spacious lounge isn’t just for relaxing, on Friday nights the Mobius has an open mic night. Usually Friday nights are filled with karaoke, but the when the Mobius says “open mic” they mean it. This often means Fridays they  have live performances by local bands or scheduled entertainers, usually widely varying in sound and style.

So whether you are looking for food, music, or just a cool place to hang out and surf the web, I highly recommend the Mobius café.
