High Expectations For New Players
Blinn football gears up for next season
Coach Browning looks on as his team lifts weightsThe coaches of Blinn College have been working hard to replace the twenty players that they are losing to Universities in the fall. Coach Browning, along with the new head coach worked hard during tryouts to replace the players.
"We lost a lot of guys last year, so I hope they come in and work hard and fill the spots we need to fill,” said corner Maurice Poullard. Coach Feldman has the players working out for two hours daily and all have to complete five hours of study hall weekly. “All people see is the end results,” said offensive line player Maurice Hanna, “they don’t see the hard work and exercise to get there."
Feldman was recently named the new head coach for Blinn and he already has made great impressions with the other football staff. “He’s a great hire and going to bring discipline and structure, also we are really going to push academics,” said five year veteran Coach Browning.
When asked about the constant changing of coaches Browning said it is normal at the junior college level and the turnover level is high. Feldman has high goals for himself as a coach as well. “I want to keep with the winning tradition with high integrity, having players representing Blinn College in a positive way and be able to transfer to another school,” said Feldman.
The players, as well as coaches, have great expectations by Blinn to accomplish including winning the conference, playoffs and to win the National Championship in the upcoming season.
