National Signing Day
Blinn Football Players at the Next Level
With Blinn College’s most recent success after former head coach Brad Franchione led the Buccaneers to an impressive 19-4 record in two seasons, including a NJCAA National Title, sixteen Blinn players signed to play at bigger NCAA schools. After Blinn College has produced players like Cam Newton, 2010 Heisman Trophy winner, this has put Blinn College on the map for many college scouts around the nation.
Among the sixteen players signing letters of intent to their schools, none is more interesting than the story of Alex Elkins. Elkins, a sophomore outside linebacker from Keller, TX, signed his letter to attend Oklahoma State University after never playing high school ball. Elkins walked on to the football squad his freshman year at Blinn College and instantly had huge success. He has 4.55 speed and can squat 500 lbs. Look for Alex Elkins to make a name for himself for the OSU Cowboys next year.
