Blinn volleyball wins conference championship, secures top seed in regional tournament
The fifth-ranked Blinn Buccaneers completed a perfect conference record after downing seventh-ranked Panola College (25-17, 24-26, 25-20, 25-21) last week at the Blinn Gym in Brenham. With the win, the Bucs brought home their seventh Region XIV Conference Championship under head coach David Rehr and also secured the top seed in this weekend’s regional tournament.
Blinn (28-5, 12-0) enters the tournament as one of the hottest teams in the nation, winners of 16 straight and 20 of their last 21.
The Bucs set out to win their seventh Region XIV Tournament title this weekend, as they travel to face host team Tyler Junior College on Friday at 5 p.m. Number two seed Panola College faces third seed Paris Junior College at 7 p.m., with the winners meeting in the Championship match at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
